Southwest Vocal Alliance (a BHS mixed chorus formed in 2019) is looking for an artistic director knowledgeable in the genre of barbershop harmony. The director should have a positive, supportive, and organized approach to guiding the chorus through helping singers find their best voice.
SVA has a culture of singers eager to learn and quick to absorb new concepts and ideas. Competition scores have progressively improved, to include the highest score last July at the international competition. Since its inception, the chorus has competed twice internationally, recently placing 25th in St. Louis and is looking forward to reaching even higher levels in future international competitions. In addition, SVA has a tradition of supporting local school choral programs by helping with performances and educational workshops.
The chorus meets weekly on Monday evenings in north central Phoenix. SVA would be a wonderful opportunity for a talented, energetic director.
