FWD SPRING division contests CANCELLED

March 27, 2020 — The Far Western District Board of Directors met this evening , and after reviewing the options given the current COVID-19 situation, including the Society's decision to cancel the 2020 International in Los Angeles, they have decided to CANCEL ALL Division Contests this Spring. Members who made hotel reservations are advised to contact the hotel and cancel as soon as possible.

This does NOT cancel the Fall Convention Cruise. We are still "full steam ahead" with our convention at sea.  All choruses and quartets are invited to compete in this first-ever event. More details on that coming soon.

For those of you who registered for one of the Spring conventions that have been cancelled, we will be contacting you shortly regarding your tickets.

Male, female, and mixed high school quartets in the Far Western District of the Barbershop Harmony Society are invited to compete in these annual contests. The contests are held in conjunction with the District's divisional conventions – Northern CA, Southern CA, and Arizona – in the spring of each year. A Division Champion will be crowned for each of the District's five divisions: Arizona, Northeast, Northwest, Southeast, and Southwest. The highest-scoring quartet from the five division contests will be named the District Champion, and a cash prize awarded to their school. Founded in 1991 by, and perpetuated in the memory of Lloyd Steinkamp, the Far Western District High School Quartet Contest continues to be fun-filled and exciting for all the participants.
