2009 | Santa Fe Springs | Kirt Thiesmeyer | 2009 Chapter of the Year Award As President of the Far Western District for 2009 it is my pleasure to recognize one of our Chapters for its outstanding performance in many areas and for representing our District in the most positive way.
I don't know where to start in this chapters accomplishments because everything they do from performance to competition to community service to working with our youth is done with a skill resembling that of a professional. They started out 2009 with a sterling performance at the Societys Midwinter convention in Pasadena closely followed by the 9th Annual edition of their Young Mens Harmony Festival bringing the over 200 young singers into the barbershop family. They continued during the year with several concerts performed to mostly sell-out audiences. Then, in July, they hosted the Societys International Convention in Anaheim, and somehow managed to also participate in several outstanding performances during the week. They continue to produce exciting, musical quartets that are not only entertaining, but also very successful on the contest stage. They are active in their support of their community with shows and quartets participating throughout the year. They also are a source of leaders for our District with members serving on the Board of Directors, the District Management Team and other administrative and leadership positions. They are literally what all chapters aspire to be and are an inspiration to all of us. So, it is with great pride that I recognize them at this time by awarding the honor of Chapter of the Year for the Far Western District for 2009 to the Santa Fe Springs Chapter and their chorus, the Masters of Harmony, under the direction of Mark Hale. Presented to the Santa Fe Springs Chapter. After many years of success, the Masters of Harmony continue to perform at the highest level and represent our District in the finest possible way, both to our Society and to the general public. Whether its hosting International Conventions, providing training and inspiration for our youth, or touching the hearts of their audiences, they always operate with professional skill and a warm, personal demeanor. Therefore they are hereby proclaimed Chapter of the Year for the Far Western District for the year 2009. |
